A very rare Charles II provincial silver porringer or caudle cup, attributed to York circa 1675 by Thomas Mangy

Of baluster form with sand cast and applied twin C scroll handles with moulded details. The body with embossed decoration of large flower heads with leaves below a punch work border. Engraved initial H in Roman script underneath. Marked only with makers mark to rim.

Length – 14 cm / 5.5 inches

Weight – 155 grams / 4.98 ozt
