THREE IZNIK POTTERY TILES WITH POMEGRANATE FLOWERS
PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE LONDON COLLECTION
Iznik, Ottoman Turkey, 17th century
Comprising three similar tiles, each of square shape, painted in cobalt blue, green, bole red and black on white ground, covered in a thick transparent lead-based glaze, sharing the same design featuring spiralling floral stems with bulbous pomegranate flowers amongst hatayi flowers, buds, and lush foliage, each ca. 25.1cm x 25.1cm.
Provenance: Previously part of a Private Collection based in London and formed between the 1970s and 1980s.
