A QAJAR SILVER-INLAID BRASS EWER
Iran, late 19th century
Of typical pyriform shape, resting on a flared circular base, with a fully rounded belly and a tall tapering ringed neck, on one side a sinuous handle and on the other a tall tapering spout with rounded end, the dome-shaped lid topped by a conical finial, the full body engraved with vegetal sprays, interlocking split palmette tendrils, rosettes and floral bands, around the belly four circular medallions with fine engraved silver-inlaid figural decorations of groups of standing and seated men and birds in nature, 40cm high.
