Typed letter signed ('C.R. Attlee'), to the members of the Haileybury Club, reading "It was very kind of you to send me your congratulations, and I value them very much. I saw our poor old club the other day and looked over it. I am glad to know that the club has been restarted. I never forget that almost forty years ago I took the first step which has led me to my present position by going down to visit the Haileybury Club that started my connection with Limehouse which has continued to the present day", one page, some browning overall, unevenness of toning to margins, punch hole to top left corner, tape remnants to the verso, 4to, 10 Downing Street, 8 August 1945; with original mailing envelope (2)
