A Queen Anne Britannia standard basting spoon, London circa 1705 by John Broake (reg. 8th July 1699)

Dog nose pattern, oval bowl with rat tail heel. The terminal engraved with a cursive mirror monogram TEG, with later dual crests below of a dragon’s head erased, and out of a ducal coronet a swan’s head collared and lined. Fully marked to stem.

Length – 31 cm / 12.25 inches

Weight – 142 grams / 4.57 ozt
