the pierced brass double basket top decorated with a central scene of St George and the dragon below a bust of a knight, the sides with male and female portraits, flanked by putti, knights and scrolling foliate, surmounted by an acanthus cast handle and flanked by four foliate finials, the ebonised clock case with gilt brass repousse frets, the sides glazed and with gilt brass mounts, on four squat bun feet, the 7 inch square brass dial with gilt winged putto mask spandrels and gilt matted centred engraved with foliate engraving, ringed winding squares and mock pendulum aperture and chamfered date aperture, signed to the top 'Wm Speakman London' flanking the strike / not strike lever, the triple fusee movement striking the quarters on a nest of five bells and the hours on a larger single bell, striking the hours and the quarters on the nest of bells upon the pull repeat, with verge escapement, the backplate engraved with scrolling acanthus leaves and signed 'Wm Speakman London', some alterations, with pendulum with pear shaped bob, case key and winder, the strikework possibly later,
