TWO MONOCHROME TURQUOISE-GLAZED BAMIYAN POTTERY BOWLS
Afghanistan, late 12th - early 13th century
Each of typical conical shape, with a rounded base resting on a short circular foot, rising to a wide circular rim, both covered in monochrome turquoise glaze and moulded with a continuous pseudo-calligraphic band on the cavetto, and star-like geometric interlace motifs in the circular medallions at the centre, each approximately 17cm diam. and 9cm high.
