A pair of Japanese hanging scroll paintings, kakejiku, ink and colour on silk, signed Zeshin, stamped with artist seals, inscribed, cyclically dated Hino no u (the year of the fire rabbit) and accompanied by an inscribed tomobako box

each 146cm high, 27.5cm long (4)

English Private Collection, acquired from Hiroshi Yanagi at Tokyo Gallery, Kyoto in the 1990s

A set of four very similar four scrolls by Zeshin sold at Bohnams Hong Kong 20 – 27th August 2020, lot 105.
