Puccini (Giacomo)
Postcard signed ('G.P') to writer Madame Margit Veszi, in Italian, saying he had not been working the whole summer because he travelled to Germany and the Netherlands. He mentioned his future whereabouts, including Paris for a production of Gianni Schicchi and Terracina for shooting. He also wrote that the news of him working on a libretto based on Molnar's work Liliom was just a rumour as "the infame principessa" (Turandot, n.d.r.) was absorbing him completely; written on both sides, very light yellowing, 9 x 14cm, Viareggio, 20 october 1922.
***In 1921 Puccini started working on his last work, Turandot, which he left unfinished upon his death. Margit Veszi, former wife of author Ferenc Molnar, had suggested Liliom for a possible libretto but Puccini rejected the newspaper reports that he was working on it as 'gossip'.
