An early to mid-20th century Iraqi silver cruet set on tray, Omara circa 1920-40
The twin handled tray of rectangular form, nielloed with a river scene of palms trees, dhow saliling boats and a boatman in a gufa, edged with similar. Fitted with a pepper shaker, salt shaker and mustard pot. The pepper with the Taq Kasra (Ruins of Ctesiphon), and the salt with the Abu Hanifa al in Nu'man, Baghdad, the mustard with both each additionally with mudif, fishermen in their mashoof, boatmen in their gufa, camels and sailing boats. Each signed Omara Daqir, the tray different to the cruet items, signed Amal’e, Shakar.
