A mid-20th century Iranian (Persian) unmarked silver cigarette case, Isfahan circa 1940

Pahlavi dynasty, of rectangular form with engraved ghalam zani decoration of a lobed medallion with arabesques reserved with peony scrolls and vignettes infilled with arabesques, edged with a band of rosettes and trailing leaves. The obverse with a diagonal band of peonies, flanked by a tree attended to by McQueen’s Bustards as well as scrolling peonies with long tailed birds. Gilt Interior.
