Opaque pigments heightened with silver and gold on paper, the vertical composition depicting a female musician with a multi-folded orange turban playing her sarod, a stringed instrument used mainly in Hindustani music, seated on a low bed leaning against a large oval cushion, in front of her a standing female attendant with encrusted earrings and several bangles clapping her hands to keep the tempo, the scene set in a palatial courtyard and encased within dark blue rules, the recto plain, 22.3cm x 12.5cm.
