EIGHTEEN QAJAR POLYCHROME-PAINTED DECORATIVE ARCHITECTURAL POTTERY TILES

Each of square shape, painted in cobalt blue, light blue, green, pink, and yellow with black outlines under a glossy transparent glaze against a white ground, each tile repeating a floral motif possibly inspired by the designs of artists belonging to the British Arts and Crafts movement like William Morris, imported into Iran upon Nasir al-Din Shah's return from his travels to Europe, featuring a baluster-shaped vase with a dense spraying bouquet of polychrome flowers including rosettes and tulips, and elongated, serrated leaves, each 15.2cm x 15.2cm.
