A large mid-20th century Persian (Iranian) silver twin handled footed tea tray, Isfahan 1969-79 mark of Saraeian, retailed by Vartan
Pahlavi dynasty. Of rectangular form with rounded corners with twin handle all raised upon four cast foliate bracket feet. The field profusely decorated with chased monabbat-kari and engraved ghalam zani decoration of tessellated central medallions and scroll work arabesques, reserved with clusters of peony foliage attended to by nightingales gol-o-bolbol, cornered with stylised lions and foliate scrolls. Edged with a scroll border and an outer border of peony arabesques and foliage. The handles with chased trailing foliage. Marked underneath with workshop mark, standard mark (84), retailer's mark VARTAN twice and assay mark lion with sabre (1969-79).
