A BRONZE FIGURE OF EVE, POSSIBLY 16TH CENTURY GERMAN, CIRCLE OF LOY HERING (1485-1554) the standing figure looking at a serpent in her left hand, holding an apple in her right, her right foot raised on a conch shell, over an integral circular base, dark brown patination, raised on a later Rouge marble cylindrical base plinth, the bronze 40.5cm high, 52cm high overall This bronze figure of Eve shares stylistic similarities with a bronze of Eve previously in the collection of Leon Bagrit that Yvonne Hackenbroch had attributed to Loy Hering and catalogued as Augsburg circa 1525.
