A rare set of six mid-19th century Armenian parcel gilt silver goblets, Van circa 1870
Each of rounded circular form upon detachable spreading conical feet with a central knop. Each with engraved scenes in quatrefoil cartouches to each side, one depicting the Sultan Ahmend Mosque Van, the other with a monastery. The cartouches below an engraved band of foliate scrolls supporting pendant swags. The underside of bowls with engraved arabesques repeated on the foot. Each marked to the side and to the foot with a provincial Ottoman Turkish tughra mark and assay scrape. (6)
