Opaque pigments, black ink and gold on wove paper, the large vertical composition depicting the fourth avatara of the Hindu god Vishnu, Narasimha, half-man and half-lion, slaying Hiranyakashipu, seated on a lotus pedestal in the middle of a split column, flanked by two worshippers, possibly the patrons of the present painting, each character accompanied by an inscription with their names in black ink Devanagari script, the scene set within black, red, and white rules, and ochre yellow and bright red borders, 51.8cm x 41.5cm.
