An early George III sterling silver gilt taperstick, London 1762 by William Cafe

The base of shaped and incurved square form with splayed shell corners, the central column with circular knops and a shaped square knop below a plain capital. Fitted with a removable shaped square sconce with shell corners. The well engraved with initials EA in flourished cursive script below an Earl’s coronet. Fully marked underneath, the sconce unmarked.

Height – 13 cm / 5.1 inches

Weight – 166 grams / 5.34 ozt
