A Nicholas I early 19th century Russian 84 zolotnik (875 standard) silver teapot, Moscow 1827 by B.C.o, possibly for Vasily Sorokovanov (Ivanov 3949)
Of ogee bowed rectangular form upon a slightly skirting base, the lower section with alternating indented fluting with a central cast band of anthemion, atop this a fluted band and then a cast band of budding roses, the hinges lid with central fluting surmounted by a carved ivory circular knop atop of a calyx. The plain curved spout opposite a C scroll wooden handle. Fully marked underneath also with later additional post-1898 French import marks throughout, standard mark also to spout, top rim and with additional makers mark to inside of lid.
