Ottoman Turkey, 18th -19th century

Of rectangular form, raised on block lion paw feet, decorated with inlaid mother-of-pearl tesserae depicting cypress trees, zig-zag fretwork bands, stylised vegetal trellis and central roundels surrounded by quarters or full roundels on each corner, the hinged lid opening to reveal a plain interior with removable boxes, 67cm x 134cm x 60.5cm.
