λ AN OCTAGONAL HOSHIARPUR EBONY, IVORY AND BONE-INLAID TEAK OCCASIONAL TABLE

Of octagonal shape, the top of the table profusely inlaid with ivory, ebony and bone with a central vegetal starburst medallion surrounded by stylised cusped vegetal festoons with leaves and buds, the central decoration encased within a meandering vine border, the edges inlaid with black and white tesserae arranged in chevrons, the concertina legs divided into eight joint sections with lobed arches and inlaid with vegetal motifs, to the interior an old inventory number '47' on both the legs and the tabletop, 42cm high and 44.5cm diam.
