Group of seven autograph letters signed ('G.Seaver') to Mrs Irving Bell, mostly discussing his book 'Edward Wilson of the Antarctic', one thanking the recipient for her appreciative words and adding "It is a real joy to know that Wilson's life can be such a help to people. He was so himself in life and it is fitting that his influence and example should continue to inspire people now, two pages, folding marks, 4to, Birkenhead, 3 February 1934; another letter says "Thank you very much for...telling me of Bernacchi's comments. I am afraid I must have given the wrong date for the Southern Cross Expedition, 1896 instead of 1898", two pages, 8vo, Glenburne, 18 April 1934; another letter reading in part "I am gald you have seen Ponting...I saw that he had been making some use of his invention in distorted camera-lenses, and I am wondering very much whether he has made a success of this... Page 278. yes you are right, the lack of vitamins has been given as the cause, or rather as the cause of subsequent loss of strength. But on the Plateau the theory given to explain it is meteorological...I did think that Shackleton's party had the same experience in this region", two pages, folding marks, 4to, 1 May 1934; with six mailing envelopes, 8 Febraury 1934- 29 March 1935 (7)
