A Louis XVI late 18th century French silver meat dish, Paris circa 1785 by Claude-Pierre Deville (reg. 9th Feb 1769)
Of shaped oval form with a moulded rim, the edge later engraved with a quartered coat of arms surmounted by a coronet. Marked to the reverse with charge mark of Henri Clavel (reg. 13th July 1780), 959 standard, obscured date letter of P format, and maker’s mark.
