A Victorian sterling silver card case, London 1882 by Sampson Mordan
Of rectangular form with rounded corners, push button release. The exterior with two Great Tits and their nest within a flowering hawthorn tree, within an envelope reserved with foliate scrolls, the reverse with another Great Tit bird upon a hawthorn branch, reserved the same, with a vacant cartouche. The interior with a concertina card section, with a removable propelling pencil. Fully marked between back and front.
