ROBERT LUTYENS - A Napoleon chair

ROBERT LUTYENS: A Napoleon chair, circa 1990's, leather and timber frame on brass castors

Notes

The classic Napoleon chair was first used by Lutyens in his own home in 1919. Edwin’s son Robert Lutyens reinvented the chair in about 1930. His version is chunkier than the original and more informal in style. This example was a gift to the present owner by the Lutyens family.

Estimated at £500 - £800
