λ AN INDIAN IVORY-INLAID WALKING STICK WITH CARVED IVORY POMMEL
Hoshiarpur, Punjab, Northern India, 19th century
Of typical tapering cylindrical shape, the wooden shaft inlaid with stylised diamond-shaped flower heads, the ivory pommel carved in the round in the shape of a lion holding in his fangs a prey, the bottom tip possibly made of buffalo horn, 93cm high.
