A very large early 20th century Japanese silver bowl, Yokohama circa 1910 by Samurai Shokai

Meiji period. Of compressed circular form upon a spreading circular foot. The body with embossed decoration in iris pattern, against a spot hammer ground. Double skinned interior. Marked underneath SAMURAI SHOKAI YOKOHAMA STERLNG with mark of an S encircled in a curve.

Diameter – 31.5 cm / 12.5

Height – 17 cm / 6.75 inches

Weight – 2060 grams / 66.23 ozt
