TWO MINIATURE ITALIAN SILVER BOXES WITH ENAMEL-PAINTED QAJAR PORTRAITS
Firenze, Italy, post-1969 (silver boxes) and Qajar Iran, mid to late 19th century (portraits)
Each silver box of rectangular shape, with polychrome-painted enamel oval portraits mounted on the hinged lid, depicting a Qajar youth wearing a striped termeh cap and holding a wine cup on one box, and a Qajar female beauty wearing a caparisoned cap, an encrusted forehead ornament, and several bejewelled accessories on the latter, each box stamped * 486 FI, the maker's hallmark of Giani & Venturi post-1969, Florentine jewellers and goldsmiths, each 4.3cm x 3.4cm, 170gr together.
