Seventeen early 19th century Maltese silver buttons, 1801-09
Ball period. of conventional form with applied wire work. Marked to the loop with F for French 958 standard, six by Antonio Tonna (reg. 1800), maker’s mark AT (Farrugia 198b), five by Salvatore Calleja (reg. 1808) mark SC (Farrugia 288), one FA probably for Francesco Arnaud (reg. 1777, Farrugia 141) and five either obscured or apparently without maker’s mark.
