Ink and pencil on wove paper, the horizontal-format preparatory sketch depicting a group of Brahmin priests seated under a canopy performing a yajna in front of a ruler and a group of musicians, with numerals and a Devanagari inscription at the top, the reverse with a stamp of the Great Eastern Hotel Calcutta (Kolkata), 20cm x 30.2cm.
