LORD RAMA HUNTING IN THE FOREST

Opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, the vertical composition portraying Lord Rama standing in the middle of the forest, holding his bow with one hand and an arrow in the other, the lush nature surrounding him in full bloom featuring a variety of trees, the Hindu God wearing the typical lotus crown and several strands of pearls around his neck, the scene set within red borders and backed on an old English Vanity Fair Magazine issue, dating 23rd October 1880, 26.7cm x 18.5cm.
