Arabic manuscript on paper, xxff. plus three flyleaves, each folio with 15ll. of black naskh script, the opening bifolio with gold and polychrome illumination, the text within cobalt blue circle against gold, red vocalisation marks, black diacritic marks, gold rosette verse markers, chapter headings in white ink on burnished gold bands, catchwords, marginal floral marks, signed Seyyed Mohammad, known as Hilmi, a pupil of Al Seyyed Ali Al-Wasfi, dated 1228AH (1813), the final bifolio with fine leafy branches in green triangles, in gold, black, blue, and red rules, in gold tooled red morocco flapped binding, the folio 16.7cm x 11cm, the text panel 9.8cm x 5cm.
