Opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, the vertical composition a devotional memorandum of the primary ten incarnations (avataras) of the Hindu God Vishnu depicted in the centre seated on an encrusted golden throne and accompanied by his consort Lakshmi, the rectangular cartouches around the central panel depicting the incarnations during crucial moments as told in the Bhagavata and Vishnu Purana texts, set within gold and orange rules, 33.7cm x 27cm.
