Marion Leigh was a friend and colleague of the Oscar award-winning experimental film animator Norman McLaren at the National Film Board of Canada in Ottawa in 1942. After she moved to London in 1946 to open the London office of the Film Board, Norman stayed in touch, sometimes visiting and staying in her apartment, and he occasionally brought and inscribed a picture.
