TWO PANEL STYLE SULTANABAD POTTERY BOWLS Iran, possibly 14th century  Comprising a hemispherical bowl on short circular foot, the white interior decorated with blue and purple lines radiating from the centre and dividing drop-shaped black panels with alternating spotted and hatched designs, the rim painted in black, the exterior with a band of diagonal black lines, slight silver iridescence on the cavetto, 19.8cm diam.; a hemispherical bowl on straight circular foot, the white interior painted in black and two shades of blue, the decoration consisting of radiating panels with stylised tendrils and lattice work, the rim painted in black, the exterior with a band of leaf-shaped oval designs in blue with dotted decoration running in the centre of each leaf, strong layer of iridescence around the rim and on the cavetto, 20.5cm diam.
