A late 19th century Anglo – Indian silver sugar scuttle, Cutch, Bhuj circa 1880 by Oomersi Mawji (active 1860-90)
Raj period, of open cylindrical form upon a spreading circular foot, topped with a strap handle and a strap handle to the back. Together with a detachable sugar shovel. Each with deep chased decoration of foliate scrolls and rosettes, edged with stylised betel leaf borders and a rope twist edge. The strap handles with flat chased peacock eye pattern. Marked underneath with makers mark O.M only, the shovel unmarked.
