《寶用》款

Of bombe form with ox-mask handles, the interior decorated with gilt splashes around the exterior, a gilt-painted two-character bao yong ('for treasured use') mark to the base

11.5cm diameter, weight approx. 723g

NOTE:

Compare a gold-splashed alms bowl included in the J.J. Lally exhibition 'Chinese Art from the Scholar’s Studio March', March 13th - April 11th 2015, which bears a similar painted bao yong mark in gilt to the base, and dated to the 17th century. Another alms bowl dated to the 17th century and bearing a painted bao yong mark was offered by Sotheby's Hong Kong, 8th April 2013, lot 117, and illustrated in Gerard Tsang and Hugh Moss, 'Arts from the Scholar’s Studio', 1986, cat. no. 229.
