A George III sterling silver teapot, London 1807 by John Emes (this mark reg. 10th Jan 1798)

Of circular rounded form upon a collet foot, the short spout with fluted lower section opposite a wooden D section handle pinned to sockets, the waisted hinged lid surmounted by a detachable wooden finial. The central section formed as and applied reeded band, the upper section with engraved decoration of trailing foliage and rosettes. Fully marked underneath, and journeyman’s mark of a X scratched 77.
