A Victorian unmarked gold and Scottish agate scent bottle, Edinburgh circa 1870, retailed by Marshall and Sons
Of 'Scottish pebble' design, of hexagonal tapered cylindrical form, set with alternating lozenge, diagonal, and wavy band panels of hardstones including jasper and agate. The mounts with a faceted garnet push button release, decorated with further garnet cabochons, the hinged lid with engraved scrolling foliate decoration, topped with a faceted cairngorm. The underside of the lid with retailer's name: Marshall & Sons, 87 George St.'
