A collection of four volumes of the plays of Beaumont and Fletcher, comprising:

Comedies and Tragedies [- The Wild Goose Chase], 2 works in one volume: ‘Comedies and Tragedies’: first collected edition, engraved frontispiece portrait of Fletcher by W. Marshall in second state (with ‘J. Berkenhead’ in small letters) supplied from a taller copy, laid down and worn, title trimmed and laid down, signature of ‘Ben Rudyerd’ and ‘Benjamin’ on title, possibly the poet and politician Sir Benjamin Rudyerd or Rudyard (1572-1658) who was a close friend of Ben Jonson, some leaves loose and frayed; ‘The Wild Goose Chase. A comedie’: first edition, lacking pp. 51-56, title browned; some dampstaining, later half calf, covers detached, lacking backstrip, worn, folio, London, 1647 and 1652;

Comedies and Tragedies. First collected edition, lacking portrait, title torn with loss of part of title and imprint and laid down (supplied from another copy?), first 5 preliminary leaves torn with some loss of text, some manuscript lists of characters pasted in or loose, final 9 leaves torn at lower corner with loss of text, 19th century blind tooled calf, upper cover detached, lower joint split extremities rather rubbed and chipped, later endpapers, folio, London, 1647;

Comedies and Tragedies. First collected edition, title torn with loss and part of title supplied in pen and ink, lacking portrait, preliminary leaf torn at foredge with loss of some text, final leaf slightly worn and rather creased, a few marginal defects, old calf, [Sir John Leveson Gower of Trentham in Staffordshire, armorial bookplate; Marquiss of Stafford, armorial bookplate], folio, London, 1647;

Fifty Comedies and Tragedies […] All in one Volume], Second collected edition, lacking title and final leaf blank, leaves Hhh1-Lll1 (pp. 425-450) supplied from another copy and loosely inserted, Xxx4 with clean tear repaired with tape, 20th century crushed morocco-backed cloth boards, folio, London, 1679 (4)
