A Napoleon I French gold and gem set musical tooth pick box, 1803-1809

Of rectangular form with hinged domed lid, the sides and base with engine turned decoration reserved within chased borders of foliate scrolls. The lid with embossed decoration of flower heads and foliate C scrolls set throughout with cabochon cute turquoise centred with a claw set rose cut diamond. The side with a sliding switch to release movement. With original key of chased gold and set with turquoise. Marked with cockerel’s head standard mark used 1809-1809 to base flange, also with numerals 540.
