A late 19th century German 800 standard silver musical singing bird box, Hanau circa 1880 by J. D. Schleissner & Söhne
Of rectangular form with rounded corners, the sided with embossed decoration of ribbon tied swags with central medallions of love birds against a matted ground. The lid with a two figure in a bucolic setting with a central oval lid chased with a classical architrave, birds, baskets of plenty and musical instruments. The mechanism activating to reveal a multi-coloured animated bird with a gilt pierced grill. Marked underneath with 800 and a pseudo French T date letter only.
