Megillat Esther.- [Esther Scroll], describing the story of Esther from the Jewish festival of Purim, inscribed on vellum in typical Ottoman Sephardic Hebrew square script in brown ink, text columns of 14 lines, some spotting and dust soiling throughout, browning on verso, gilt brass cylindrical revolving handle, surmounted by 3 concentric bands decorated with pierced half rosettes, Ottoman cypress shaped finial topped with an orange stone (possibly made with resin) resembling a pomegranate, 3500 (long) and 140 mm (wide) (350 mm with the handles), brass oxidized, [probably Ottoman Empire, c. early 19th century]; with the original blessing leaf wrapped around. ***A wedding gift with the blessing of the father in low.
