AN INDO-PORTUGUESE TEXTILE PANEL WITH FIGURAL DECORATION

The central fragment of brocaded silk, woven in blue, green, white and red with a group in European and Indian attires in a double-decker carriage, a gentleman on the upper deck being served a hookah, mounted with joined Kashmiri twill-tapestry wool fragments, possibly from a shawl, in pinks, framed and glazed, 32cm x 23.3cm.
