Keulemans with a few after W.Foster & G.E.Lodge, handsome later dark brown morocco, by Riviere & Son, gilt, t.e.g., inner gilt dentelles, spines faded, [Anker 308; Fine Bird Books, p.119; Nissen IVB 563], large 8vo, 1891-97. *** Together with this set is an original water-colour sketch of the Greenland Falcon initialled by Thomas Thorburn with the original receipt of purchase from Rowland Ward dated '51. Also a separate framed colour plate by Thorburn of The Marsh Warbler. This plate is accompanied with a letter from D. McDonald-Booth dated 1990 authenticating it as from the estate of Archichbald Thorburn and found amongst his folios and was his Proof Copy.
