A late 19th century Chinese Export silver bowl, Shanghai circa 1890 by Kun He retailed by Wang Hing of Canton
Qing Dynasty. Of hemispherical form upon a spreading foot with a scalloped edge. The upper rim with pierced and chased decoration of trailing peonies. The body with cast and applied decoration of trailing Chinese dragons centred with a vacant cartouche formed as the sacred pearl. Marked underneath with retailer’s mark WH, numeral 90 and artisan mark 昆和 (KUN HE).

Height – 12.3 cm / 4.9 inches
Weight – 940 grams / 30.22 ozt
Kun He operated in Shanghai between 1880-1925 producing well made holloware using cast and applied decoration, a large bowl with dragon feet by this workshop was sold these rooms, 18 Nov 2021, lot 229 (£3750 incl. prem)
