A late 19th / early 20th century Chinese Export silver three-piece tea service, Canton circa 1900 by Yu Sheng retailed by Sun Shing

Qing dynasty, comprising a teapot, a milk jug and a twin handled sugar bowl. Each of compressed circular form upon a collet foot. The teapot with a curved spout chased to resemble root wood opposite a similar worked handle fitted with ivory insulators carved the same. The hinged domed lid surmounted by a detachable finial formed as root wood, with two leaves, fitted with an ivory insulator. The bodies and the lid with finely embossed decoration of chrysanthemums all reserved against a matted ground, the necks plain. The milk and sugar with traces of gilt interior. Each marked underneath with retailer’s mark SS, numeral 90 and artisan mark 裕盛 (YU SHENG). (3)
