Note:
Bruce Onobrakpeya is a pioneering printmaker, sculptor and painter. He is considered Nigeria's foremost print maker, renowned for his innovative techniques and unique style which aims to decolonise art from western naratives. This lot is an example of his additive plastograph technique, which uses a form of deep etching on a low relief plate to create richly textured intaglio prints. His work draws inspiration from Nigerian folklaw, art history and landscape along with Christian iconography, Greek mythology and the natural world.
