An early 20th century Siamese (Thai) unmarked silver betel leaf holder, probably Central Thailand circa 1910
Of tapering form of elongated octagonal cross section, with moulded rims. The front and back with chased decoration of birds attending trailing flowers, reserved with textured decoration. The side panels with chased foliate forms similarly reserved, otherwise with chased edge panels in between. Otherwise with flat chased stylised scroll borders to top and base section with corded edges. The underside with a flat chased four-leaf medallion and four pierced holes.

Weight – 87 grams / 2.8 inches
