A pair of mid-19th century Indian colonial silver cruets, Calcutta circa 1855 by Lattey Brothers and Co (active 1843-55)

Each of inverted bell form upon spreading shaped circular feet, each with domed and pierced leaf form lids surmounted by pomegranate finials. The bodies with embossed decoration of stylised acanthus leaves. One engraved PEPPER, the other SALT. Each marked underneath with LB, fouled anchor, lion passant, gothic L, crown, and a tally mark.
